PRIDE PARADE 2006 which was a kind of parades was taken place in Toronto. That parade which was held to express the human rights of the people who are socially regarded as a minority group of homosexsual could be realized as a demonstration with being understood those things
by society of Canada, which is one of the countries which have deep understandings of advanced cultures. I had many thoghts about that
impressing experience.
先日、トロント市内においてパレード「PRIDE PARADE 2006」が開催された。ホモセクシャルという社会的にマイノリティとされている人々の権利を主張する為のこの行進は、文化先進国であるカナダならではの社会理解が根底にあるからこそ実現可能なデモンストレーションなのではなかろうかと、非常に感慨深いものであった。

One of the landmarks of Toronto is CN TOWER which is also known as the highest building in the world. On a clear day, you can see not only all parts of Toronto city but also even NY state in the U.S. from here. It is located in the south part of downtown of Toronto, facing to habourfront.
トロントのランドマークであるCN TOWERは世界最高層ビルディングとして世界にその名を轟かせている。澄んだ晴れた日にはトロント市内はもちろんのこと、NY州までもが見える程である。立地場所はトロントのダウンタウン南端にあり、ハーバーフロントに面している。

最近、apple.caの新しい広告を見かける。何やらAppleの今後の戦略（Microsoftの音楽ビジネス参入に対する姿勢等）が垣間見れる興味深い広告である。
A man who was painting advertising of apple on the wall of a shop. I found easily that that was the same way to paint ad. on the wall as what I had seen how to do that before in Tokyo.
とあるお店の壁にAppleの広告を描いている男性。東京でもお馴染みの手法で壁広告を制作していることが容易にわかる。
He was paiting ad., referring to the paper which was showing real one exactly.

Queen Street West is well known for an area in which there are a lot of desinger's brand shops. It seems like Harajuku in Tokyo, but honestly speaking, I can find the scale of it is much smaller than that of Harajuku. Nevertheless, Queen Street West must be one of the areas you can't miss when you are in Toronto.
Queen Street Westはトロントで最もセレクトショップが多く集まっているエリアとして知られている。東京で言えば、原宿と言ったところであろう。ただ、その規模は原宿と比べてしまうと、比にならない程小さいことは否めないが、少なくともトロントにおいては外せないエリアのひとつであることは間違いない。
You can see various artists selling their works like paintings and photos on the sidewalk every weekend. Especially, the man who are drawing something like unique buildings with a peculiar touch in a monochrome painting every weekend is the most impressive for me.
週末になると、歩道には様々なアーティストが集まり、自分の絵や写真等を販売している姿を見つけることができる。中でも、毎週同じ場所で墨絵のようなモノで独特なタッチでビル群を描き続けている彼の姿が特に印象深い。
I often see tourits from foreign counrties taking their pictures with this painted wood. It is absolutely interesting that they paint even trees in downtown.
様々な観光客がこの木と一緒に記念撮影をしている光景をよく見かける。街中にある木にさえペイントしてしまうノリが何とも面白い。
